Training
Philosophy – We believe in keeping things simple and doing it very well. We want the horses to be confident and happy in their training. We let them tell us when they are ready to advance. The babies start out with regular handling beginning with birth. All of our broodmares consider us as partners in raising their babies. We teach the youngsters to lead, bathe, be brushed and pick up their feet for cleaning and trimming. They learn about clippers and we teach them to load in the trailer. As yearlings, they confirm these lessons and learn to free jump. Some of the horses will begin going to the shows to complete in hand in the hunter breeding classes. As two year olds, they learn to lunge and wear tack. We teach them to drive and get on them for the first time. They learn to walk trot and canter with a rider. As the year goes on, they begin trotting simple jumps. For the three- and four-year-old years, we continue with the riding and simple jumps a couple of times a week. They will attend some smaller shows to get accustomed to showing. We aim the four year olds toward the hunter and jumper futurities in the fall of the four year old year. Once the horses turn five, they begin pointing towards competing in the Young Jumper series classes.
Schedule - We generally school the horses four days a week with some hacking days, some days where we address various exercises such as gymnastics and some course jumping days. The other three days, the horses generally go in the turnout to buck and play in the sun.
Shows - We take the competing horses to one A show or more per month to test their skills and training.
Our results - All of our foals score very well at the foal inspections. As they progress, we have had champions at the West Coast IJF Finals for four year olds as well as year end champions at the 5 and 6 year old West Coast Young Jumper Finals. We have also earned many year end regional awards for young jumpers and Silver Stirrup National awards.

Our Philosophy
We start with horses that have had success at the highest level of sport. Most of our broodmares have proven records as successful grand prix jumpers. We also have some outstanding hunter broodmares. I have gone searching for the very best performance horses both in the United States and Europe. My goal is to produce better horses than I can go out and buy. I have found that many times, the very best horses are “just not for sale”. I strive to produce those “very best horses” and offer them for sale. These horses need to be exceptional athletes, have great conformation and be beautiful as well as have exceptionally kind and trainable temperaments.
